My Experience With TSW

In the summer of 2025, I traveled to Nepal with Putney Student Travel for a service program that would completely reshape my perspective. While there, I met Sanam and Karma, the founders of The Small World, an organization dedicated to empowering and educating women in underserved communities. Their mission and passion deeply inspired me. During my time in Nepal, I worked alongside 11 other students to build the foundation for a school—an experience that was both physically challenging and incredibly meaningful. Being part of something so tangible showed me the direct impact that community-led efforts can have, especially when centered around women’s education and empowerment. That summer sparked a lasting connection to The Small World and its mission, and it continues to influence the work I do today.
